White Trillium Wellness is a senior-focused provider specializing in dermatology-informed facials and personalized nutrition care, delivered on-site to retirement homes or in-home to individual seniors and families. Founded by Dr. Eli Akbari and Maryam Shojaee, we combine medical expertise with compassion and deep care for seniors, aiming to enhance happiness, well-being, joy, longevity, and purpose for seniors.

How does your approach differ for mature and sensitive skin?

We provide non-invasive facials for mature skin, focusing on hydration, revitalization, nourishment, radiance, glow, anti-aging, and firmness. Our care is specifically science-backed and compassionate, tailored for senior health and mature skin. Our treatments are designed to address common concerns like dryness, wrinkles, age spots, and redness, while always avoiding chemicals, strong fragrances, or common irritants.

• We bring portable equipment for easy setup in retirement facilities or private homes, catering to groups, individuals, or families.

Who is on your team, and what are their qualifications?

Our experienced team includes Dr. Eli Akbari, a Dermatologist with over 18 years of practice and medical aesthetician training, leading skincare. Maryam Shojaee, MSc, holds a Master's in Food, Nutrition and health, Medical Aesthetician, and expert in quality assurance of products and protocols.

What products and ingredients do you use in your treatments?

We use gentle, natural, organic products with medical-grade techniques, avoiding harsh chemicals or irritants. Lines include Alex Cosmetics for targeted aging solutions and Caudalie for antioxidant-rich luxury. Key ingredients: Hyaluronic Acid (hydrates), Niacinamide (calms barrier), Ceramides (protects), Soothing Extracts (reduces inflammation), Antioxidants (shields skin).

Are your treatments safe for seniors with sensitive skin or allergies?

Yes, our treatments are designed for mature, sensitive skin using hypoallergenic products. We screen allergies via intake forms before sessions, ensuring tailored, comfortable care. Fully insured, we follow strict hygiene protocols with sterilized tools and promote natural healing.

How do you ensure hygiene and safety during services?

We uphold top hygiene standards with fresh linens, disposable/sterilized tools, and hand/equipment sanitization between clients, ensuring we uphold the “highest levels of care, hygiene, and effectiveness” in every service. To further ensure safety, we screen for allergies and sensitivities before treatment by providing an intake allergy history form for residents to complete.

What should I expect during a White Trillium Wellness facial?

A professional facial is a tailored, multi-step treatment designed to promote and improve your overall skin health. Our gentle, non-invasive treatments focus on cleansing, hydrating, and nourishing your skin. The goal is rejuvenation, comfort, and providing practical health advice. How should I prepare for my facial appointment?

We recommend filling out the short allergy history form provided prior to your appointment time so we can tailor the treatment to your individual needs and ensure the highest level of comfort. Beyond that, just come ready to relax and let us take care of you. 

How often should a senior receive a specialized facial?

While even a single facial provides immediate benefits like improved skin comfort and mood, regular facials are more about health and maintenance than just luxury. A routine of tailored, gentle care can offer long-term benefits by supporting skin barrier health and overall well-being. We can discuss a personalized schedule during a follow-up consultation. 

How do residents, individual seniors, or families benefit from your services?

What brands and products do you use?

We carefully select product lines that align with the needs of mature and sensitive skin, such as:

• Alex Cosmetics: A professional, in-clinic brand offering targeted solutions and innovative skincare concepts for virtually every skin condition, including soothing and rebuilding sensitive skin.   

• Caudalie: Known for its antioxidant-rich formulas and natural ingredients. They focus on unique, innovative formulas designed with patented ingredients for visible, lasting anti-aging results, adding an upscale, luxurious touch.   

Why do you use Hyaluronic Acid in your treatments?

Hyaluronic Acid is essential for hydrating and plumping mature skin. It works by fortifying the skin's natural barriers to help lock in moisture, which is crucial as the skin's natural lipid barrier slows down with age. It deeply hydrates, softens, and helps reduce the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles by creating a plumping effect. This extra hydration also helps promote skin cell regeneration, leading to a more vibrant complexion.   

What are Ceramides and how do they help my skin barrier?

Ceramides are fatty acids that naturally make up about 50% of your skin’s natural barrier. As we age, ceramide levels decrease, leading to dryness and irritation. We use ceramides in our treatments because they are key to maintaining healthy-looking skin. They help seal in vital moisture, prevent dryness and sensitivity, and shield the skin from external irritants and environmental damage.   

What does Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) do for aging skin?

Niacinamide is a powerful, water-soluble vitamin that is highly beneficial for mature skin. It visibly minimizes enlarged pores, improves uneven skin tone, softens wrinkles, and most importantly, it calms, restores, and strengthens a compromised skin barrier. Due to its ability to improve this protective barrier, Niacinamide also reduces the impact of environmental damage and can help the skin recover from past damage signs, promoting an overall increase in cutaneous health.
